Wormwood is often considered an annoying plant. However, UAportal has learned that this ancient medicinal plant actually provides numerous benefits and serves as a natural protector.

One of the main reasons to keep wormwood in the garden is its ability to repel a wide range of insects and larvae. Common garden pests such as aphids, scale insects, moths, carrot root flies, sawflies, and whiteflies are usually scared away by the presence of wormwood.

Using wormwood in the garden is extremely easy. To protect the garden from possible pests, place wormwood sprigs between rows of carrots or near cabbage and other vulnerable plants.

For a stronger effect, you can prepare an infusion of wormwood. First, pour 5 liters of boiling water over a large bunch of fresh wormwood and let it brew for an hour.

When the infusion is ready, it can be used to spray any pest-infested plants in the garden. It is noteworthy that wormwood has the additional advantage of repelling ants, caterpillars, moths, aphids, and mice.
