Things that should never be put on the table: folk signs

The dining room table has always been considered a symbol of home comfort and was associated with various superstitions and beliefs. UAportal has learned about five items that, according to popular belief, should never be kept on the table.

Keys

According to some beliefs, keys symbolize the transition to another world. By keeping them on the table, you may inadvertently facilitate the transition of a family member to this "other world."

Dishes

It is strongly discouraged to keep empty dishes on the dining room table, as it is believed to attract poverty. To prevent this, it is recommended to either fill the plate with something or simply turn it upside down if it is not possible to remove it.

Knives

It is considered bad practice to leave knives or any sharp objects on the table, especially at night. It is believed that a knife left on the table can break the harmonious connection between people and potentially lead to quarrels or disputes.

Bags

Bringing a bag from the street and placing it on the dining room table can bring negative energy accumulated during the day into your home. It is advisable not to throw the bag directly on the table. From a hygienic point of view, it is better to allocate a separate place for the bag, as it could touch different surfaces.

Money

It is believed that leaving money, especially coins, on the table can lead to financial difficulties, as well as discord between family members or roommates. To avoid such potential problems, it is better not to put money on the dining room table.
