How to plant irises to enjoy a colorful garden

Irises have a stunning variety of colors that add beauty to any flower bed. UAportal has prepared tips for planting and growing these flowers.
Irises can be divided into two types: bearded and beardless. The former are characterized by thick, wavy petals that resemble bangs in shape.
Time
Irises can be planted from early spring to fall. However, it is important to note that beardless irises are less resistant to root drying. To ensure their well-being, it is recommended to plant them in open ground and cover them with mulch to retain moisture.
Planting irises can begin as early as April. However, if cold temperatures persist, it is advisable to postpone planting until the end of April, when the temperature stabilizes above 10°C. In addition, it is very important to choose a suitable location for irises, avoiding areas exposed to winds and drafts.
Preparation and planting
Dig small holes with central mounds where the roots of the flowers will be placed. Remember that the depth of the hole should not exceed 3 centimeters. Keep a distance of 50 centimeters between each iris plant.
