From sowing to harvest: tips for growing radishes

UAportal has prepared recommendations that will help you harvest a bountiful radish crop. Gardeners often start planting the plant in March, although April is also suitable.
Radish easily tolerates short periods of frost, making it one of the first plants you can grow in your garden. To ensure the best possible harvest, experienced gardeners have a few secrets up their sleeve.
Preparation
Radishes grow well in loose soil, so it's a good idea to add compost as an organic fertilizer when preparing the bed. In addition, it is important to plan the beds, leaving about an 8-centimeter gap between them and not deepening each row more than 2-3 centimeters.
Another method worth trying before sowing is to water the radish beds with a solution of phytosporin, which is effective in preventing fungal and bacterial plant diseases. To prepare the solution, dilute a tablespoon in 2 tablespoons of warm boiled water. Mix the contents thoroughly, and then add 1 teaspoon of the solution per 1 liter of water.
Sowing
When it comes to sowing radish seeds, it is advisable to place them about 5 centimeters apart. You can use a matchbox as an improvised ruler.
