A cocoon for newborns: yes or no?

Parents often wonder if it's safe to use a cocoon for newborns.
For sleeping - no
For resting - yes
Now the question is: do you really buy it so that the child can just lie in it?
I doubt it....
In reality, parents put the cocoon, nest, mattresses, pillows on an adult bed and put the child to sleep there
As a result - 79 infant deaths and 124 injuries between 2010 and 2022, mostly in children under three months of age (based on fixed data only in the United States)
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has introduced new mandatory safety standards for cocoons, nests, mattresses, positioning pillows, and feeding pillows
Ukraine does not have similar rules and no one keeps statistics, but this does not negate the need for parents to follow the safety rules.
The new standards include:
Stiffness testing:
Surfaces that an infant may come into contact with must be tested for rigidity to prevent the risk of strangulation
Angle of inclination of the side walls:
A minimum angle of 90 degrees between the wall and the surface is set to reduce the risk of strangulation and entrapment
Maximum angle of inclination:
The angle of inclination of the pillow should not exceed 10 degrees to avoid dangerous positioning of the child's head and neck, hanging the head on the chest
Using seat belts for infants:
The use of such belts may give the false impression that the child can be left unattended
Warning labels:
Products must bear permanent and clearly visible hazard warnings.
They are aimed at increasing the safety of babies and prohibit the use of such pillows for sleeping
Sooner or later, such cocoons WITHOUT belts and other fixings will certainly appear.
Will parents stop using cocoons for babies to sleep in them then?
