Since the summer heat turns the car interior into a hot oven, it is very important to be careful with the items left in the cabin. UAportal has compiled a list of things that should never be left unattended in a car in the summer.

1. Water bottles

In addition to the obvious consequence of heating the liquid, leaving a water bottle, especially a glass one, in direct sunlight can increase the risk of fire because it acts like a lens.

2. Medications

Manufacturers usually recommend storing medications at temperatures below 25°C. Higher temperatures can lead to chemical changes in the medication, potentially making it less effective.

3. Lighters and cylinders

This is a well-known rule that is often forgotten. Lighters, deodorants, air fresheners, throat sprays, and compressed air tanks should never be exposed to heat, as this can lead to an explosion or fire.

4. Foods

Accidentally leaving perishable foods in the car, such as yogurt or chocolate bars, can lead to unpleasant surprises, such as stained seats that will require expensive dry cleaning.

5. Alcohol

When exposed to temperatures above 20°C, alcohol forms compounds that contribute to bitter taste and odor.

6. Electronic equipment

To preserve the durability of tablets, phones, battery-powered toys and other gadgets, they should not be left unattended in the car even for a short time. Excessive heat and direct sunlight can damage lithium batteries and potentially cause irreparable damage.

7. Waxed products

Wax has a low melting point and begins to liquefy at around 40°C. Given that the car interior can heat up to 50°C in the hot sun, it is advisable to remove wax pencils and candles from the seat surfaces to avoid the inconvenience of cleaning the seats later.

8. Creams

Ointments and various cosmetics should not be left in the car in the heat. Under the influence of high temperatures, their composition may change, and their effectiveness will deteriorate.
