Keeping your bathroom and kitchen fixtures in top condition can be a challenge. Rust and plaque tend to accumulate over time, leaving stains and deposits. UAportal has prepared several proven life hacks that will help restore the shine to your bathtub, toilet, sink, faucet, and even washing machine.

Ammonia and peroxide for rust

Mix ammonia and hydrogen peroxide in a 2:1 ratio and apply the solution to the areas where rust has formed. Leave it on for about 10 minutes. Then rinse off the solution with running water.

Hydrogen peroxide for limescale

If your bathtub is ruined by unsightly limescale, hydrogen peroxide can help. Apply it to the affected areas, ensuring complete coverage. Leave it on for about 30 minutes to allow the peroxide to work, and rinse off the solution with warm water.

Citric acid for yellow spots

Yellow stains are a common problem that can make your plumbing look dull. Fortunately, a simple citric acid solution can work wonders.

Dissolve a whole sachet of citric acid in a glass of warm water. Using a sponge, gently apply the solution to the bathtub surface. Leave it on for about 30 minutes so that the citric acid has time to dissolve the unwanted yellowing.
