Maintaining healthy and blooming indoor plants is a priority for many. UAportal reminds you that although commercial fertilizers are commonly used, it is worth exploring alternative, natural options that can give excellent results without chemicals.

Coffee grounds

After you've had a cup of coffee, don't rush to throw away the leftover grounds. Instead, use it as a natural fertilizer for your plants. Simply mix the leftover coffee grounds with the soil to promote healthy growth of your flowers.

Onion infusion

Onion skins have beneficial properties for plants. To create an enriching fertilizer, collect them, add water, and boil the mixture on the stove for about 15 minutes. After cooling and straining the infusion, you'll have a powerful fertilizer.

Fruit leftovers

Before throwing away citrus or banana peels, consider using them as natural fertilizers. Finely chop the peels and soak them in hot water. After a day, strain the liquid to get an infusion that can be used to fertilize plants.

Sugar

Sugar can also serve as an effective fertilizer. To make it, dissolve 1 teaspoon of sugar in a glass of water. Apply this solution to your plant's soil every week for a month.

Aquarium water

Aquarium water can be used as a natural fertilizer during the spring and early summer months. Rich in various compounds that are vital for plants, this water is a useful source of nutrients.
