Learn useful tips for making delicious kebabs on your backyard. UAportal has told you what you should know to cook the most tasty dish and impress your guests and friends.

Marinating

A quick and tasty marinade can be prepared by mixing olive oil, lemon juice, chopped garlic, and a set of your favorite spices. Put the meat in a zip-top bag and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (ideally overnight), to allow it to soak in as much as possible.

You can add a tablespoon of yogurt to the marinade to soften the meat and keep it juicy while grilling. It's important not to overdo it, as this can make the kebabs too salty or spicy.

Skewering

When skewering meat and vegetables, use two skewers parallel to each other. This prevents the ingredients from rotating and makes it easier to turn over on the grill.

Vegetables

Vegetables, such as cherry tomatoes or mushrooms, can be skewered in half or separated by a piece of bell pepper or onion to prevent sticking. Leaving a little space between the ingredients will ensure even cooking.

Spices

Enhance the flavor of the kebab by adding a little sumac to the spice mix for a tangy citrus flavor. A small handful of chopped fresh herbs, such as parsley, mint, or cilantro, will add a freshness to the dish.

Lemon

Remove the kebabs from the grill and sprinkle them with lemon juice to bring out the flavor. Grill lemon slices and serve them with the meat to add extra zest.
