How to distinguish leather shoes from artificial ones

Although genuine leather products are extremely durable, sometimes it can be difficult to determine whether a pair of shoes is made of leather or synthetic material, such as leatherette, even in well-known stores. UAportal tells you how to understand what material the shoes are made of.
Check the label
Look for symbols that indicate the material from which the product is made. Genuine leather shoes should have a characteristic pattern.
Examine the shoe box
Carefully examine any inscriptions on the box that indicate the use of genuine leather. "Vera pelle" in Italian, "echtleder" in German, "cuir" in French, and "genuine leather" in English are the most common translations you might find.
Pay attention to the lining
Pay attention to the inside of the product. Faux leather shoes usually have a textile or polyamide lining on the inside.
Squeeze with your fingers
Press or bend the front of the shoe with your finger. The genuine leather will instantly straighten out the wrinkles caused by the pressure. Conversely, if the shoe creases, it is likely synthetic leather.
Assess the warmth to the touch
Shoes made of genuine leather should keep your hands warm. On the other hand, an artificial leather product will give off cold. Another useful tip is to put the shoe under a stream of water - if the water droplets roll off rather than soak in, it is most likely an artificial leather product.
