How to descale a kettle: 3 effective life hacks
To descale a kettle, you don't have to spend money on expensive solutions and tablets from stores. Instead, UAportal has prepared three budget life hacks using everyday items that are just as effective in dealing with stubborn scale.
Vinegar
Use vinegar to remove scale from the walls and bottom of the kettle. Dissolve 100 ml of food-grade vinegar in a liter of water before use. Pour the solution into the kettle and bring it to a low boil. Leave it to boil until you notice that the deposits peel off the walls of the kettle.
Baking soda
If you have a metal or enamel kettle, baking soda can help with cleaning. Fill it with water and add a tablespoon of baking soda. Bring the mixture to a boil and leave it for about thirty minutes - the baking soda will help dissolve limescale and restore the cleanliness of your kettle.
Fruit peels
Don't forget about the effectiveness of fruit peels, especially apple and pear peels, which contain natural fruit acids. The acids it contains can effectively fight limescale on the kettle. Put the peel in the middle, cover it with water and bring it to a boil.
