UAportal found out that when it comes to dealing with rust stains on the toilet, there is no shortage of effective methods for housewives. You can use both natural home remedies and specialized commercial products.

Vinegar and baking soda

Pour a cup of vinegar down the toilet and leave it for about 5 minutes. Then pour in baking soda and scrub with a brush to break down rust and mineral deposits.

Lemon juice and boric acid

Mix boric acid with the juice of two lemons to form a paste and then apply the mixture to the toilet. Leave it on for a few minutes. Brushing it off will give you a fresh citrus smell and a clean toilet.

Coca-Cola and aluminum foil

Pour Coca-Cola on the rust stains and leave for a few hours. After that, crumple up a piece of aluminum foil and wipe the stained areas with it.

Professional product

For particularly stubborn rust stains, you may need to use a commercially available cleaner specifically designed for toilets. Follow the instructions on the product packaging: apply the product, leave it on for the recommended time, and then scrub the surface with a toilet brush.
