How to get rid of unpleasant odors in the kitchen: 5 useful tips
Keeping the kitchen clean and smelling fresh is key to a pleasant experience. However, certain situations can lead to unwanted odors. Whether it's burnt food, a lingering garbage smell, or other unpleasant aromas, UAportal has prepared five useful tips to help you eliminate them effortlessly.
Trash can
If the issue is with the trash can, it's crucial to thoroughly clean it with detergent. After cleaning, sprinkle baking soda on the bottom of the bin. Baking soda acts as an odor absorber, effectively neutralizing smells.
Burnt food odor
To eliminate the smell of burnt food, try adding a small amount of water to a saucepan, followed by a couple of teaspoons of baking soda, lemon juice, and a few drops of essential oil. Bring the mixture to a boil and let it simmer on low heat for about 15 minutes.
Coffee
If your kitchen is clean and well-ventilated but the unpleasant odor persists, brewing aromatic coffee or roasting coffee beans can help. Fill the kitchen with an attractive aroma that effectively masks other unwanted odors.
Citrus peels
Don't discard citrus peels; they are a great way to freshen up the kitchen. Place the peels in boiling water for 15 minutes to release a pleasant fruity aroma, ultimately eliminating unwanted odors.
Refrigerator odor
If the source of the unpleasant odor is your refrigerator, start by removing any spoiled food. Then clean the inside of the fridge with a mixture of vinegar, water, and baking soda. Pay special attention to wiping down the shelves with this solution.
As an additional measure, place an open cup filled with baking soda on one of the shelves. It effectively absorbs unnecessary odors. Don't forget to replace the cup with a new one every week.
