Vegetable strainers, which are commonly used for packaging, can be repurposed in various ways to make them very useful items for everyday household tasks. UAportal has prepared three interesting ways you can use them in everyday life.

Plant drainage

Improve the growth and health of your plants by using vegetable mesh as a drainage system for flower pots. By lining the bottom with mesh, you ensure that excess water drains efficiently, preventing waterlogging and potential root damage. Don't worry about the durability of the mesh – it will withstand the humid environment without any negative consequences.

Washing white socks

Cleaning white socks often requires considerable effort, including hand washing and using stain removers. However, there is a simple method that gives fantastic results. Take a bar of soap and put it in a vegetable strainer, securing it with a rubber band.

This makeshift "brush" offers a practical solution for easily washing white socks. It is also equally effective at removing stains from shirt collars, cuffs, T-shirt armpits, etc.

Hard sponge

When a soft sponge doesn't produce enough lather or can't get stubborn dirt, a wrapped vegetable mesh sponge can help. Ideal for delicate or hard-to-reach surfaces such as facades, kitchen countertops, and tiles, it provides a gentle yet effective solution. Unlike a regular brush, it doesn't leave unwanted scratches, while effectively removing dirt and grease.
