The image shows four bottles of milk and a rat. The task is as follows: you are trapped in a room with no food. After 2 days you are given 4 bottles of milk, one of which is poisonous. The picture shows a rat, and to find out which bottle is poisonous, you can feed samples of milk to this rat.The poison starts to take effect exactly 10 hours later.

You have only 24 hours in which to drink 3 bottles of milk to satisfy your hunger, or you will die.

So out of the four bottles of milk, one is poisonous. You have to find it.

Solution to the puzzle

You can feed the rat milk to see which bottle contains the poison. You have to feed the rat milk from one bottle every hour. If the rat dies after 10 hours, the first bottle is poisonous. If the animal does not die, you can drink the milk from this bottle. If the rat dies after 11 hours, the second bottle is poisonous, if it dies after 12 hours, the third bottle is poisonous.

However, if the rat does not die even after 12 hours, then the fourth bottle is poisonous and you do not need to conduct further tests.
