Scientists discover part of the decoration of the nymph of Emperor Tiberius in Capri

In the Blue Cave near the coast of Capri, Italy, researchers from the Department of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape of Naples have discovered an unexpected find – a stone block.
Measuring 60 meters long and 25 meters wide, this cave has a narrow entrance that can only be passed through at high tide. In the past, it served as a private bathing place for Emperor Tiberius. This was reported by Heritage Daily.
Underwater excavations have uncovered a variety of treasures, including statues of Roman gods, which are now on display at the Anacapra Museum. The found stone block, which was submerged to a depth of 3 meters, is believed to be part of the decoration of an imperial nymphaeum.
Balloons were used to raise the artifact to the surface, and now it has been transported to the port of Capri for further research.
