Be careful with them: top dog breeds that don't get along with children

Not all dogs feel comfortable in the company of children. While some breeds are known for their love of kids, others may experience fear or stress, which sometimes leads to aggressive behavior.
Children often behave unpredictably, so choosing a breed with a patient and protective nature is an important decision for families with kids. According to the Express, dog trainer and behavioral expert Will Atherton named three breeds that are best avoided if you have children.
1. Border collie
Border Collies are energetic medium-sized dogs that are famous for their ability to herd livestock. They are obedient, intelligent, and easy to train. But, according to Atherton, these traits can be a problem for families with children.
"Many people mistakenly believe that because they are easy to train, a Border Collie will be easy to care for, but this is not true. If you don't provide the dog with proper attention and exercise, it will start herding children: chasing them and biting their ankles," the expert warns.

2. Akita
Akitas are loyal, quiet, and protective family members. They are affectionate with their family, but can be wary of strangers and other animals.
"Akitas can be great dogs in the right environment, but they often have difficulty with children. Their natural instinct to protect can turn into problems if they feel threatened," Atherton says.
3. Dalmatian
These graceful dogs are excellent watchdogs who show loyalty and love for their owners. At the same time, they can be cautious and even wary of strangers.
"Few people know that Dalmatians have one of the highest bite rates in the UK, and it's often children who are targeted," the dog handler notes.
When choosing a dog for your family, consider not only its character but also its need for training and attention. It's important to remember that even friendly breeds need proper upbringing to avoid conflicts with children.
