Stylist magazine reported that nostalgic moods about hairstyles have brought back the long-forgotten trend of the 2000s – elongated side bangs. If you look at social media, it becomes obvious that many fashion bloggers are reviving this style.

In school photo archives from the early 2000s, you can often see hairstyles with side parting and long bangs. Think, for example, of the images of the Olsen twins, Hilary Duff or Rihanna at that time.

In recent years, the symmetrical parting has dominated the fashion, and hairstyles with side parting have faded into the background. However, with the return of low-waisted jeans and T-shirts with fun lettering, millennials predicted that the side parting with elongated bangs would become relevant again.

This style is characterized by longer bangs that start at the side of the head and cover only part of the forehead. It usually runs diagonally, following the natural curve of the hairline.

Among the stars who are now choosing this hairstyle are Jenna Ortega, Bella Hadid, Jennifer Garner, and Zendaya.

Those who are interested in this trend should know that the style is versatile, but not suitable for everyone. The shape of your forehead plays an important role: if it is low, such bangs can constantly get into your eyes, which will cause discomfort.

When it comes to styling, the basic rule is to dry your bangs in the opposite direction from the direction you plan to style them. Use a brush to dry the roots first, and then shape it with a round brush.

If you want a more glamorous look like Kim Kardashian, use a large round brush to create volume from the roots. For extra hold and volume, apply a spray to the roots.
