How to extend the burning time of candles: 3 effective life hacks

We light candles to create coziness in our homes and often use them during power outages. But they often burn out too quickly. Fortunately, there are simple ways to extend their life.

Scissors

Take scissors and cut the candle wick to 1 cm in length. A long wick usually leads to a large flame that quickly exhausts the candle. By shortening it, you can slow down the burning process.

Put the candle in the freezer

Place the candle in the freezer. Freezing the wax will cause it to melt more slowly, extending the burn time of the candle. Thinner candles usually require less time in the freezer.

Add salt to the liquid wax

After the candle has burned, a puddle of wax will form above the wick. Add some table salt to it. This will slow down the melting of the wax and extend the life of the candle.
