Cabbage soup is a tasty and satisfying dish that can be prepared at home in a fairly short time. It is very rich and flavorful thanks to sauerkraut and meat.

To make cabbage soup according to the recipe from the sensatsiya website, you need to take sauerkraut, white cabbage, potatoes, onions, lard, pork, millet, tomatoes, water, borscht seasoning, and vegetable oil.

Here are tips to help you make this soup delicious:

  • Cook the meat in the broth for an hour.
  • Fry onions and bacon in vegetable oil.
  • Stew tomatoes with onions and bacon.
  • Add the potatoes and millet to the broth with the meat and cook until the potatoes are ready.
  • Shred the white cabbage and add it to the soup along with the roast.
  • Cook the soup for another 20 minutes, adding borscht seasoning, salt and pepper to taste.

Ingredients:

  • Sauerkraut - 300 g
  • White cabbage - 300 g
  • Potatoes - 650 g
  • Onion - 1 pc
  • Lard - 50 g
  • Pork - 600 g
  • Millet - 100 g
  • Tomatoes - 200 g
  • Water - 3.2 liters
  • Seasoning for borscht - 1 tsp.
  • Vegetable oil - 3 tbsp.
  • Salt and pepper - to taste

Preparation:

  1. Cut the pork into small pieces and send it to a pot of water. Salt the broth and put it on the fire. Bring to a boil and cook over medium heat for an hour, periodically skimming off the foam.
  2. Cut the lard into cubes and fry in vegetable oil in a frying pan until golden brown.
  3. Peel and dice the onion. Add to the bacon and fry for another 5 minutes.
  4. Wash and dice the tomatoes. Add to the onion and bacon and simmer over medium heat for 5 minutes.
  5. Peel and dice the potatoes. Rinse the millet under running water.
  6. Add the potatoes, millet, and sauerkraut to the broth with the meat. Cook until the potatoes are tender.
  7. Finely chop the white cabbage.
  8. Remove the cooked potatoes from the broth, mash them and return them to the pot.
  9. Add the roast, white cabbage and borscht seasoning to the soup. Cook for another 20 minutes.
  10. Add salt and pepper to taste.
