Dumplings and varenyky are traditional Ukrainian dishes that are loved by both adults and children. To make them tasty and not overcooked, it is important to prepare the dough properly.

One of the secrets of making dough for dumplings and varenyky without eggs is to add a little starch to it. Starch gives the dough elasticity and strength, and also helps it not to boil during cooking.

Ingredients:

  • Wheat flour - 550 g
  • Potato starch - 3 tablespoons
  • Water - 350 ml
  • Salt to taste

Method of preparation:

  1. Sift the flour into a bowl, add the starch and salt.
  2. Gradually pour water into the flour, kneading the dough until smooth.
  3. Wrap the dough in cling film and refrigerate for an hour.

Tip:

  • To make the dough more elastic, you can add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to it.
  • Let the dough stand at room temperature for 30 minutes before making dumplings or dumplings.
