In the summer, many of us look for ways to reduce the temperature in our homes for a comfortable stay. Air conditioning is an effective, but not always budget solution.

An alternative is a fan, which is a more affordable option. The UAportal team will share tips on how to use a fan during the summer heat to achieve the best cooling effect.

Here are some of them:

  • Table fans: They should be placed at a height, such as on top shelves, directing the air flow downward.
  • Floor fans: These devices are best placed in the center of the room, oriented toward doors or windows for optimal air distribution.
  • Use of fans at night and in the morning: It is recommended to place a small fan on the windowsill, pointing it towards the window, so that it pushes warm air out of the room.

Please note that the fan should not blow directly on you, as this can lead to hypothermia and also make the heat even more unbearable when you move away from it.

Additional tips for cooling down:

  • Ventilation: Remember to ventilate the room regularly by opening doors and windows to allow for natural air exchange.
  • Use of curtains: Close windows with curtains or drapes to prevent sunlight from entering and overheating the room.
  • Number of fans: In large rooms, it is recommended to have several fans of different types for better air distribution.
  • Humidifiers: Use humidifiers to maintain optimal humidity levels.
  • Wet cleaning: Regular wet cleaning will help avoid dust and dirt that the fan may carry around the room.

These simple steps will help you create a cooler and more pleasant environment at home during hot days.
