Many people believe that a large blanket or rug can only be dry-cleaned. However, there are ways to do it yourself at home without much effort.
Radiotrack writes about this.
What you need:
- Warm water
- Baking soda (6 tablespoons)
- Dishwashing liquid (2 tablespoons)
- Washing gel
How to wash:
- Run warm water in the bathtub.
- Add the baking soda, dishwashing liquid, and laundry detergent.
- Soak the blanket in the solution for 4 hours.
- Turn the blanket over periodically so that it is evenly soaked.
- After 4 hours, drain the water and fill the blanket with clean, warm water.
- Let it stand for another hour.
- Rinse the blanket. You can use your hands, feet, or a mop to do this.
How to dry:
- Let the blanket lie in the bathtub under oppression. For example, you can put a bucket filled with water on top.
- Then you can unscrew the blanket or hang it over the bathtub on some structure to let the water drain.
- Transfer the almost dry blanket to the balcony and dry it as usual.
Tips:
- To wash the blanket, choose a mild detergent that does not contain chlorine or other aggressive substances.
- If the blanket is very dirty, you can add a little ammonia to the soaking solution.
- To help the blanket dry better, you can squeeze it out a little.
