How to wash white socks to bring back their color: an effective life hack

White socks are a versatile piece of clothing that can be found in every closet. They fit perfectly into any look, unlike colored models with extravagant patterns.

However, over time, socks can lose their original whiteness, acquiring a less attractive gray shade. The Uaportal team has prepared a simple life hack for you, with which you can restore the original whiteness of your socks without using bleach.

How to restore the whiteness of socks

Take a large bowl and fill it with hot water. Pour in one tablespoon each of baking soda and citric acid. These ingredients react to create a powerful cleaning mixture that will not only whiten the fabric but also eliminate any odors.

Soak the soiled socks in this solution for a couple of hours. After that, simply put them in the washing machine and wash them on the normal cycle.

You can also use baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to wash white socks. Add 2-3 tablespoons of baking soda and about 50 ml of peroxide to the washing machine drum. This will allow you to achieve perfect cleanliness and whiteness of your socks at home.
