Having a picnic outdoors and relaxing with friends on a lawn somewhere is always nice, but sometimes it can leave unwanted green marks on your clothes. Don't consider such stains a death sentence for your clothes and don't throw them away right away.

There are several proven methods that can effectively remove green dirt from fabrics of different colors, including jeans and shoes. This was written by Vikna.

How to remove grass stains from white clothes

Do not rush to use bleach. This product can be too aggressive and even leave unwanted yellow marks on the fabric or damage the material. Instead, try a gentle method using 3% hydrogen peroxide. Add a few drops of ammonia to the peroxide, dampen a cotton pad with this mixture, and gently wipe the stain, moving from the edges to the center.

Leave the clothes on for 15-20 minutes and then rinse in water. Remember that this method is only suitable for white clothes, as it can ruin colored fabrics.

How to remove green stains from colored clothes

When it comes to colored clothing, it is best to start removing grass stains right away, before the pigment gets deeply embedded in the fibers. A simple and economical way is to use table salt. Dissolve two tablespoons of salt in a glass of water, strain and moisten a cotton pad in the solution, which you then use to treat the stain. Leave for 2-3 hours, periodically moistening the fabric to prevent it from drying out.

If the stain is old, you may need to repeat the procedure several times.

How to remove grass stains from jeans

To remove stains from jeans, try using vinegar and baking soda. First, moisten the stain with water, sprinkle it with baking soda, and pour vinegar over it. After the chemical reaction, wait a few minutes and then rinse your jeans with cold water.

And to clean your sneakers from grass stains, you can use toothpaste.
