Scissors are indispensable in every home. It is important that such a necessary tool is always ready for use.

UAportal, together with noviydoctor, has prepared some tips for you on how to sharpen scissors effectively and easily. This method does not require the use of a glass, foil, or sharpener.

How to sharpen scissors yourself

First of all, it should be noted that the described method of sharpening is not suitable for all types of scissors. It is suitable for clerical and some types of kitchen scissors that do not have special teeth or uneven cutting surfaces.

For manicure, hairdressing, and other specialized tools, it is recommended to contact a professional to sharpen them.

To sharpen a tool, you'll need to cut a piece of sandpaper (P600 or P300) evenly.

The main thing here is not to do it haphazardly, because this is the key to success.

First, open the scissors so that the angle between the blades is 90 degrees. Then press the sandpaper against the point where the blades intersect and make a cut until the scissors are completely closed. Repeat this process at least 25 times, and then turn the sandpaper over and make another 25 cuts on the opposite side.

This effective and simple method will allow you to sharpen your scissors efficiently and effortlessly. This is an ideal option for those who do not want to take their scissors to a master for sharpening.

Earlier, UAportal told you about another way to sharpen scissors using a needle and a bottle of Corvalol.
