Leather goods, sink and more: what can be cleaned with olive oil

Vinegar and baking soda are undoubtedly great helpers in cleaning and disinfecting. However, their abrasive particles and acidic nature can cause damage to delicate surfaces.

Fortunately, there is an eco-friendly and safe alternative - olive oil. This liquid will be a great tool for polishing and cleaning various surfaces in your home.

Here are just a few examples of how olive oil can be used:

• Stainless steel: Olive oil can help get rid of fingerprint stains on stainless steel. Simply apply a little oil to a sponge, work the surface, and wipe it off with a paper towel.

• Leather goods: Rub olive oil on leather goods to moisturize worn leather and restore its shine.
• Cast iron products: Apply a thin layer of olive oil to cast iron cookware to prevent rust and preserve the cookware.
• Paint and resin removal: Olive oil can be used to remove paint stains. You can also combine olive oil with baking soda to remove tar from the sidewalk.
• Sink clarification: Mix lemon juice and olive oil, apply the mixture to a microfiber towel, and wipe down your stainless steel sink. This will help restore its shine and disinfect it.

• Marker marks: Dip a cotton swab in olive oil and gently wipe off any marker marks. Then rinse the surface with a damp cloth.
• Polished wooden furniture: Mix olive oil with vinegar to make the perfect wood polish.

• Clean countertops: Olive oil is a great tool for cleaning and shining stainless steel, marble or granite countertops. Unlike traditional store-bought cleaners, it does not contain harsh chemicals.
• Wooden utensils: Brush olive oil on wooden kitchen spatulas or spoons to restore them.
