We all know that gravy can make any dish more delicious. And if you have a recipe for an all-purpose gravy that goes with meat, fish, pasta, buckwheat, and other side dishes, then this is a godsend!

If you don't have tomato paste, you can use fresh tomatoes. Pour boiling water over them to remove the skin, then chop and simmer until a thick mass is formed. The recipe was shared on the sensatsiya website.

Ingredients:

  • Vegetable oil - 1 tbsp.
  • Butter - 1 tbsp. l.
  • Flour - 1 tbsp. l
  • Tomato paste - 1 tbsp (or 2-3 ripe tomatoes)
  • Sugar - 1 tbsp
  • Water - 500 ml
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation:

  1. Heat oil in a frying pan and add butter.
  2. Fry the flour in it until golden brown.
  3. Add tomato paste (or chopped tomatoes) and sugar.
  4. Stir in the water while stirring constantly.
  5. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Bring to a boil and simmer until thickened.

Tip:

  • You can add mushrooms, onions, garlic, herbs, or other spices to the gravy if you like.
  • This gravy can be used for cooking meat, fish and vegetable dishes.
