In spring, the garden needs protection from diseases and pests. For this purpose, it is recommended to carry out four sprayings. The first of them is an eradication spray, which is carried out before the buds awaken.

By following these tips shared on zaxid.net, you can protect your garden from diseases and pests and get a good harvest.

When to carry out the first spraying:

  • Be guided by the temperature: when it stays steady at +4-6°C during the day, you can start processing.
  • This is usually the second half of February – early March.
  • The trees are still sleeping, so you can use solutions with a high concentration.

What to treat with:

  • Urea (urea) is effective against pests and pathogens.
  • Copper preparations (copper sulfate, Bordeaux mixture, "Blue Gold") – protect against otomycosis, moniliasis, and fruit rot.
  • Iron sulfate – fights the main diseases of fruit and berry crops, and is also effective against moss on tree trunks.

Treatment options:

  1. Urea (700 g) + copper sulfate (50 g) per 10 liters of water.
  2. 300 g of copper sulfate per 10 liters of water.
  3. Bordeaux mixture: 300 g of copper sulfate + 100-300 g of quicklime per 10 liters of water.
  4. "Blue Gold" (30 ml) per 5 liters of water.
  5. Iron sulfate (500 g) for 1-2 liters of water, bring the volume to 10 liters.

Recommendations:

  • Spray in the morning when the trees are dry after night frosts.
  • Remove fallen leaves before spraying.
  • Treat not only the crown of the trees but also the trunk circle.
  • Currant and honeysuckle bushes wake up early. If their buds are already swollen, use the products for the second spraying or skip the treatment.

Important:

  • Iron sulfate can be used for the last fall and first spring treatment.
  • Copper sulfate can also be used in the fall and spring, alternating with iron sulfate.
  • Be sure to renew the whitewashing of tree trunks or wrap them in agrofibre to protect them from frost damage.
