For fans of criminal action: top movies about robberies

Heist movies with their unpredictable plots, unexpected twists and charismatic criminals are able to keep viewers in suspense until the final credits roll.

RBC-Ukraine offers five of the most exciting movies about daring heists, in which not only jewelry but also reputation is at stake.

"Thieves 2: Panther"

This winter, the sequel to the sensational action movie Thieves, Thieves 2: Panther, is coming to the big screens, promising impressive plot twists.

The movie is set in Marseille, where one of the largest diamond exchanges is located. "Big Nick" O'Brien (Gerard Butler) continues to pursue Donnie Wilson (O'Shea Jackson Jr.), who joins the gang to commit a grand heist. Exciting scenes and intrigue will keep you watching until the very end.

"Ocean's Eight"

This stylish story tells the story of Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock), the sister of Danny Ocean. Barely out of prison, Debbie begins to plan a daring theft - a Cartier necklace worth $150 million during the Met Gala.

To accomplish the complex mission, she assembles a team of the best accomplices, including a con artist, a hacker, and a jeweler. Charismatic heroines, including Cate Blanchett, Rihanna and Anne Hathaway, add a unique charm to the movie.

"Without a Trace"

The events of this thriller take us to London in the 1960s, where the luxury of diamonds contrasts with a world of harsh social inequality.

The protagonist Laura Quinn (Demi Moore), a promising employee of a diamond corporation, faces career restrictions due to gender stereotypes. An inconspicuous janitor, Mr. Hobbs (Michael Caine), offers Laura a plan for a brilliant heist. But his intentions turn out to be much more complicated than it seems at first glance.

"Diamonds Are Forever"

One of the most iconic Bond films, in which Sean Connery reprises his role as 007.

The plot revolves around the theft of diamonds intended to create a space laser. The investigation leads James Bond to Amsterdam, Las Vegas and even outer space. Exciting stunts, a carefully thought-out script and a charismatic hero make this movie a classic.

"The French Kiss"

Although at first glance this is a romantic comedy, its plot is based on intrigues with stolen jewelry.

The protagonist Kate (Meg Ryan) travels to Paris to get her fiancé back, but accidentally becomes part of a fraudulent scam. A petty criminal, Luke (Kevin Kline), puts a diamond necklace in her luggage, but things don't go according to plan. Lightness and humor make this story vivid, adding to the adventurous mood.

These films prove that regardless of whether it's a high-tech theft or a romantic adventure, robberies always attract a lot of interest in the world of cinema.
