How to properly care for dracaena so that its leaves do not dry out

We all know that dracaena is an unpretentious houseplant. But sometimes even it can get sick. If your dracaena has drying leaves, it is a signal that it needs your help.

If you take proper care of the dracaena, it will delight you with its luxurious healthy leaves for many years. Do not forget that dracaena does not like temperature changes. Therefore, do not place it near a cold window or in a draft, writes prostoway.

First of all, you need to establish the cause. Here are some of the most common ones:

  • Low air humidity. This may be due to the heating season or simply the dry climate in your apartment.
  • Improper watering. Dracaena does not like either waterlogging or overdrying the soil.
  • Insufficient lighting. Dracaena needs a lot of light, but not direct sunlight.
  • Lack of nutrients. If you don't feed your dracaena with fertilizer, it may lack the nutrients it needs to grow.

How to help dracaena?

  • Eliminate the cause. If the cause is dry air, then spray the dracaena with water from a spray bottle or place a humidifier next to it. If the cause is improper watering, then adjust the watering regime.
  • Feed the dracaena with fertilizer. For this, you can use any complex fertilizer for indoor plants.
  • Transplant the dracaena into a larger pot. This should be done every 2-3 years.
