Sleep well: what foods to exclude from your diet to stop snoring

Diet affects the risk of developing sleep apnea, which is the main cause of snoring. However, the condition can also be corrected through diet.
A diet low in junk food and high in fruits, vegetables, and cereals reduces the likelihood of sleep apnea. This is reported by Radiotrack.
People with a healthy diet had an almost 20% lower risk of developing the disease compared to those who consumed fewer healthy plant foods.
The presence of plant foods in the diet had a greater effect in reducing the risk of apnea in men. Instead, a diet containing sugary drinks and desserts increases the risk in women.
Plant-based foods reduce inflammation and obesity, which are key risk factors for obstructive sleep apnea.
Foods that cause snoring
No diet can completely eliminate snoring, but eliminating certain foods from the diet before bedtime can reduce it. First of all, dairy products, because lactose increases the formation of mucus, which can contribute to snoring.
Fast food and fatty meat should be avoided before bed.
The expert advised against sweets and sugary drinks, as processed sugar can irritate the mucous membrane. The same applies to wheat products, such as bread and pastries, which not only cause inflammation but also produce excess mucus.
It is optimal to eat more vegetables, fruits, salmon, and nuts to reduce snoring.
Non-drug factors, including smoking and alcohol cessation, as well as weight loss, will help minimize snoring.
