Flawless nude: makeup artist reveals the secrets of choosing lipstick for every skin tone

Choosing the perfect nude lip shade can be a real challenge. This task requires attention to many details to harmoniously complement the makeup, which should be almost invisible.
Melissa Gigliotti, a makeup professional, shared her recommendations for choosing a nude lipstick with Body+Soul. She emphasized that nude shades include caramel, peach, muted pink, pinkish brown, and richer mocha and brown tones, which should be selected based on the unique natural skin color.
To choose the perfect color of cosmetics, a makeup specialist recommends that you first establish your skin tone. Pay attention to the shade of your veins that show through the skin. A venous color that leans toward purple or blue indicates a cold skin tone, and green indicates a warm skin tone. If your veins are blue-green in color, your skin has a neutral undertone.

Based on this, choose a lipstick palette that matches your skin tone. For people with a cold skin tone, pink and peach lipsticks are suitable. While for warm skin tones, shades of honey, caramel, terracotta, and apricot are ideal.
Melissa advises: "Choose a lipstick that is a few shades lighter or darker than your skin tone, but avoid the same color." Lipstick that matches your skin tone can make your face look too pale.
To complement the lipstick, the makeup artist advises choosing a pencil or eyeliner 3-4 shades darker. To avoid the outdated look typical of the 90s, she suggests gently shading the edge of the eyeliner with a special lip brush before applying lipstick. This approach will create a look that is both natural and sophisticated.
