Puff pastry envelopes with meat filling are a delicious and easy-to-prepare pastry that is ideal for a family lunch or dinner.

The recipe was shared in the One Minute magazine. To make the dough, you can use both regular flour and puff pastry. For the filling, you can use any meat you like. To make the envelopes juicier, add finely chopped cabbage or mushrooms to the filling. Before baking, the envelopes can be greased not only with beaten egg yolk, but also with sour cream or yogurt.

Ingredients.

  • For the dough:
    • Water - 200 ml
    • Salt - 1/2 tsp
    • Flour - 400 g
  • For the filling:
    • Meat - 400 g
    • Onion - 350 g
    • Salt - 1/2 tsp
    • Ground black pepper - 1/2 tsp
    • Vegetable oil - 50 g

Preparation.

  1. Prepare the dough. Mix water and salt in a deep bowl, add flour and knead the dough. Leave the dough in a warm place for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the filling. Cut the meat into small cubes and the onion into half rings. Fry the meat and onion in vegetable oil until tender. Add salt, pepper and other seasonings to taste.
  3. Roll out the dough into a thin layer. Cut the layer into squares.
  4. Put the filling on each square and form envelopes.
  5. Put the envelopes on a baking sheet covered with parchment. Brush the envelopes with the beaten egg yolk and milk and sprinkle with seeds, if desired.
  6. Bake the envelopes in a 180-degree oven for 40 minutes.
