Are you experiencing an unbearable headache but don't have any painkillers at hand? UAportal tells you about simple remedies that can bring relief even in such cases.

Exercises in front of the mirror

Try standing in front of a mirror and performing a series of facial exercises aimed at relaxing your muscles. Quickly raise your eyebrows, first the right, then the left, and both together. Then close your eyes and slant them to the right and left. Another effective technique is to gently press your fingertips on your eyebrows and gradually move them to the bridge of your nose. After each exercise, remember to pause to allow your facial muscles to relax.

Acupressure massage

Identify areas on the temples that cause pain when pressed and gently massage them. This helps dilate blood vessels, improving circulation, which helps reduce or eliminate headache symptoms. You can also massage the bridge of your nose as this also helps relieve pain.

Eye massage to relieve headaches

Gently massage your closed eyes in a circular motion, first clockwise and then counterclockwise, and you will notice a decrease in headache after five minutes.

Neck warm-up

Neck massage can be an effective remedy for headaches, especially if the discomfort is caused by cervical spine problems, such as degenerative disc disease. In addition to massage, incorporate some simple neck exercises into your daily routine, such as alternately tilting your head toward each shoulder, pulling your head back, and bringing your chin closer to your chest. Take breaks between exercises.

Relief through rubbing

Warm up your palms by placing them over your ears and gently rubbing them until you feel warm. Then move your palms in different directions – up, down, and sideways – to further stimulate circulation and relieve headaches.
