UAportal will tell you what to do to get a bountiful raspberry harvest. Proper fertilization is important when the growing season is nearing.

Spring is a great time to effectively fertilize raspberries. After the initial pruning, it is important to support the plants by providing them with the necessary nutrients.

During this period, the main goal of gardeners is to protect fruit crops from potential frost damage, especially during cool nights. In addition, the issue of pest control and providing plants with sufficient nutrition becomes a priority.

Keeping a consistent watering schedule is imperative, especially if there is a lack of rain. The general recommendation for watering raspberries is once a week, about 10 liters of water per bush.

To maximize the raspberry harvest, comprehensive fertilization is extremely important. Here are some options:

Organic fertilizer

When raspberries are in bloom, consider using rotted horse and cow manure. Spread this organic matter under the bushes and water it abundantly.

Mineral fertilizers

An effective option is to fertilize raspberries with an ammonium nitrate solution. Dissolve 3 grams of ammonium nitrate in 15 liters of water and mix it with the soil after loosening it.

Homemade solution

A tried and true traditional method is to use a sourdough starter to boost raspberries. Dissolve one sachet of dry yeast in a bucket of water.

To enhance fermentation, add 3 tablespoons of sugar and leave for several hours. Dilute the concentrated solution with clean water in a ratio of 1:5 before use.
