5 easy and affordable ways to remove grease stains from fabric
Greasy stains on clothes can be frustrating, but they don't always require expensive household chemicals to remove them. UAportal has told you that you can effectively remove them with the help of affordable products that you have in your home.
1. Dishwashing detergent
Take a dishwashing detergent and apply a small amount directly to the contaminated area. Rub it in gently. If the stain does not disappear within 20 minutes, try again.
2. Shampoo
Choose a specially formulated shampoo for oily hair. Dampen a cloth and add a couple of drops of shampoo. Leave it on the stain for about 30 minutes and then gently rub the area. The degreasing properties of the shampoo will help to remove dirt effectively.
3. Paper
For this method, you will need two sheets of paper. Place one sheet under the stained area and the other on top. Run a hot iron over the garment. When the heat is transferred to the paper, it will lift the grease from the fabric, leaving it stain-free.
4. Salt
The salt method works best for fresh grease stains. Just sprinkle it liberally on the stain, rub it gently, and leave it on the fabric for 20-30 minutes. As a result, the stain will shrink significantly.
5. Laundry soap
Apply laundry soap directly to the grease stain and leave it on for several hours. For greater effectiveness, sprinkle it with sugar and then throw the item in the washing machine. The combination of soap, sugar, and a normal wash cycle will help to remove the stain completely.
