Ancient weapons dating back to about 1900 were discovered in a cave in Mexico. Experts found an atlatl (51.5 centimeters long), two fragmented darts (66 and 79 centimeters).
According to experts, the atlatl had a hook and a groove for darts. This was reported by the National Institute of Anthropology and History of Mexico(INAH).
Archaeologists also found a couple of modified logs. They were probably used as sticks for digging and as multifunctional tools.
According to experts, the dryness of the cave made it possible to preserve objects dating back to between 7 and 132 AD. According to officials, further excavations and research will be conducted in the areas around the cave to better understand the ancient societies that once inhabited the region.
The cave is located in the town of Cadereita, Querétaro, about 150 miles northwest of Mexico City.
