Aphids eat roses: what remedies are really effective against the pest
Roses are undoubtedly one of the most beloved garden plants, as they enchant with their exquisite blooms and delightful scent. However, these beauties can unfortunately fall victim to numerous pests, one of the most common of which is aphids.
These small insects that feed on plant sap multiply rapidly, causing damage to the leaves, stems, and buds of roses. Their body can be green, yellow, brown or black.
Leaves damaged by aphids may become curled, wrinkled, discolored, or wilt. Buds and flowers can become deformed, dull, or even fall off. Aphids secrete a sticky substance that can cause black mold to appear on the leaves and also attract ants.

By feeding on plant sap, aphids weaken the plant, making it more vulnerable to other pests and diseases. Some aphid species can transmit viruses between plants, which can lead to serious problems.
How to get rid of aphids on roses?
There are several methods of controlling aphids on roses, including safe and environmentally friendly ones. Gardeners advise spraying the place where aphids are concentrated with a stream of water. You can also use a mild liquid soap. It is dissolved in water in the proportion of a tablespoon of soap per liter of water. Spray the roses with this solution.
Garlicinfusion: chop200 g of garlic, pour 10 liters of water and leave for a day. Strain the infusion and spray the roses with it.
Decoction of celandine: Pour 200 g of celandine with 10 liters of water, bring to a boil and simmer for 30 minutes. Strain the broth and spray the roses with it.
Neemoil: This natural pesticide is made from the oil squeezed from the seeds of the neem tree (Azadirachta indica). It inhibits the aphids' ability to move and feed, interrupts their life cycle, and suffocates them. Use neem oil according to the instructions and be sure to cover the entire rose plant, including the bottom of the leaves, where aphids can hide.
