The yellowed soles of your favorite shoes will become white again: simple remedies will help
Many people who wear sneakers or shoes with white soles have difficulty cleaning them. Over time, the soles acquire a yellow tint, which makes the shoes look untidy. Attempts to remove the yellowing with a regular sponge and water usually do not bring the desired result, and therefore such shoes are often sent to the back of the closet.
However, there are simple and affordable methods that allow you to return the soles to their original whiteness. The UAportal team will tell you about them.
How to whiten a yellowed sole
To restore the purity and snow-white color of the soles, use ordinary baking soda. Take 3 teaspoons of baking soda and mix with 30-40 ml of water to a thick paste. Using a cloth or sponge, apply the paste to the yellowed areas of the sole, rubbing thoroughly in circular motions. Leave on for 30-40 minutes, then rinse with water to remove any residue.
Another method is a combination of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide, which helps to eliminate yellow stains. Apply the resulting mixture to the sole with a brush and leave it on for a while, preferably in the sunlight. Then simply rinse with water and the soles will return to their original white color.
Using baking powder can also be effective due to its bleaching properties. Mix it with white laundry detergent in a ratio of 1 to 2 and add a little water to make a paste. Use a toothbrush to apply the mixture to the soles, place the shoes in a plastic bag, and leave for half an hour. After the paste has dried, rinse it off with warm water and you will see that the soles will become clean and white.
