Chef explains how to keep garlic fresh for a long time: It will not sprout
The chef explained how to keep garlic fresh for a long time

Garlic can stay fresh for up to six months. However, it is important to know where to store it so that it does not sprout.

It is best to store garlic bulbs in a container on the kitchen counter, in a dry, shaded place at room temperature. This is reported by Express.co.uk.

However, once you crush the garlic bulb to use one or two cloves, the remaining garlic cloves can sprout much earlier than expected.

According to Chef Jerry, an uncovered garlic bulb will only last a couple of weeks before it starts sprouting shoots. The best way to store garlic is to put the peeled garlic cloves in a small jar of vinegar, which should then be stored in the refrigerator.

This storage method ensures that the garlic stays fresh for up to four months. The garlic clove may change color, but this will not affect the flavor at all.

After the four-month period, any garlic cloves remaining in the vinegar should be discarded and not eaten.
