Carpets can be a real source of dust, dirt, and bacteria, so it's important to take care of them regularly. It's also important to remove stains from the surface of the carpet in time to prevent them from becoming ingrained, otherwise, you'll have to take it to a dry cleaner.

Fortunately, there are many environmentally friendly and effective ways to clean your carpets without using chemicals, santeplusmag.com writes.

1. Use the shaving foam:

Apply the foam to the stain and spread it with a toothbrush. Leave on for 15 minutes and then blot with a damp cloth. Dry with absorbent paper.

2. White vinegar:

Mix 1 part of white vinegar with 3 parts of cold water. Spray the mixture on the carpet and let it work for 5 minutes. Blot with a microfiber cloth. Ventilate the room to allow the carpet to dry.

3. Salt and baking soda:

Mix equal parts baking soda and salt. Sprinkle the mixture on the carpet and spray with water. Scrub with a cleaning brush. Wipe with towels and allow the carpet to air dry. Vacuum to remove any residue.

4. Vacuum regularly:

Vacuum your carpet at least once a week. Use a carpet attachment to remove dirt and dust from the fibers.

5. Remove stains immediately:

The sooner you remove a stain, the easier it will be to remove. Blot the stain with a clean cloth to remove excess liquid. Use an appropriate stain cleaner.

With these simple tips, you can keep your carpets clean and fresh without using harmful chemicals.
