Do you want to get an early harvest of cucumbers? Then you can't do without growing seedlings. With knowledge and a little effort, you can grow delicious and crispy cucumbers!

Cucumbers do not tolerate transplanting well. Keep the soil moist and avoid temperature changes, zaxid.net writes.

When to sow seeds?

  • January: greenhouse varieties
  • February: 4-8, 15-21, 29
  • March: 1, 2, 5, 6, 13-19, 28, 29
  • April: 1, 2, 10-15, 25, 29-30

What kind of soil is needed?

  • Loose, air and moisture permeable
  • Not acidic
  • You can buy ready-made soil or make it yourself (peat, humus, garden soil)
  • Disinfect the soil (fry it or spill it with potassium permanganate)
  • Apply fertilizers

Seed preparation:

  • Check for suitability (dip in saline)
  • Rinse in running water
  • Disinfect in potassium permanganate
  • Germinate in a damp cloth (2-3 days, temperature +25-30°C)

How to sow?

  • Use separate vessels
  • Sow 1 germinated or 2 ungerminated seeds
  • Depth 3-5 cm
  • Water
  • Cover with glass or film
  • Keep at a temperature of +23-28°C
  • Moisten 2 times a week

Features of growing in a greenhouse:

  • Prepare compost or manure "hot" beds
  • Place no more than 4 bushes on each m²
  • Do not germinate the seeds, only process them
  • Cover the bed with foil
  • Monitor the temperature
