How to make a thermos with your own hands: life hack with foil
A thermos is an indispensable item for those who like to spend time outdoors or simply want to enjoy a hot drink in any weather. However, if your thermos is broken, don't despair.
You can easily make one yourself from scrap materials. Telegraf writes about it.
To make a thermos, you will need:
- A two-liter plastic bottle
- Scissors or a knife
- A glass bottle with a narrow neck and a screw cap
- Aluminum foil
- Scotch tape or hot glue
Instructions:
- Cut off the neck of the plastic bottle.
- Cut the rest of the bottle in half.
- Wrap the glass bottle tightly with several layers of aluminum foil. Secure the foil with tape or hot glue.
- Glue the glass bottle to the bottom half of the plastic bottle.
- Place the top half of the plastic bottle over the glass bottle. The edge of the neck of the glass bottle should protrude from the hole in the plastic part.
- Tape the two halves of the plastic bottle together.
Here are some tips to help you make your thermos more efficient:
- Use a narrow-necked glass bottle to reduce the amount of space between the glass and plastic utensils.
- Wrap the bottle tightly with foil to prevent any gaps.
- Use high-quality adhesive tape or hot glue to ensure a secure connection.
