How to check pineapple for ripeness: 2 signs will help
One of the key signs of ripeness is the condition of the root

All the signs of pineapple ripeness are visible on the fruit itself, you just need to look closely. To choose a ripe and sweet pineapple, carefully inspect the part of the fruit that touched the ground when the pineapple was growing, as well as the area around the root.

One of the key signs of ripeness is the condition of the root. If it dries up and turns brown, and the area around it turns brownish-yellow, the fruit is ripe. This was reported by Ukr.Media.

If the root remains fresh, and the skin around it is greenish-yellow, this indicates that the pineapple is not yet ripe. In this case, it can be left in a dark place for two weeks to ripen. However, if you need a ripe fruit immediately, choose a pineapple with a dried root.

The second sign is the overall color of the fruit. A ripe pineapple usually has a deep brownish-yellow hue, while an unripe pineapple retains a greenish appearance.

By paying attention to these two simple criteria, you can easily choose the most delicious pineapple in the store.
