How to dye emerald eggs for Easter: life hacks from housewives
Dyeing eggs emerald is easy

Easter is approaching, and that means it's time to prepare a festive treat! In addition to the traditional red, blue, and yellow eggs, you can treat yourself and your loved ones with unusual colors. Emerald is a great choice because it symbolizes wealth, spring, and new life. Glavred writes about this.

1. Made with natural dyes:

Ingredients:

  • Eggs
  • 2 tablespoons of ground coffee
  • 1 tablespoon of turmeric
  • 5 sachets of karkade tea
  • Salt
  • Water.

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the eggs: Wash the eggs thoroughly with soap and water to remove grease and dirt.
  2. Boil the eggs: Place the eggs in a pot of cold water and add 1 tablespoon of salt. Bring to a boil and cook for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Prepare the dye: While the eggs are boiling, brew the karkade tea in 1 liter of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and leave to simmer for 5 minutes. Add coffee, turmeric and mix well.
  4. Color the eggs: Carefully remove the boiled eggs from the pot and place them in the pot with the dye. Make sure the eggs are completely covered with the liquid. Leave the eggs in the dye for 30-45 minutes, depending on the desired color. The longer the eggs are in the dye, the more saturated the color will be.
  5. Cool the eggs: Remove the eggs from the dye and let them cool on paper towels.
  6. Optional step: For shine, you can rub the eggs with olive oil.

Important:

  • For a more intense color, you can use strong coffee or grind coffee beans.
  • Hibiscus tea can be used instead of karkade tea.
  • If you want a softer emerald color, you can add a little yellow food coloring.

2. With the help of food coloring:

Ingredients:

  • Eggs
  • Green food coloring
  • Blue food coloring
  • Water
  • Vinegar
  • Gloves

Instructions:

  1. Prepare your workspace: Cover the work surface with cling film or newspaper to protect it from the dye.
  2. Put on gloves: Put on gloves to protect your hands from the dye.
  3. Prepare the dye solution: Pour 1 liter of water into a saucepan and add 1 tablespoon of vinegar. Bring to a boil.
  4. Add the dyes: Add a few drops of green and blue food coloring to the boiling water to get the desired shade of emerald color.
  5. Color the eggs: Carefully dip the boiled eggs into the dye solution. Make sure the eggs are completely covered with the liquid. Leave the eggs in the dye for 5-10 minutes, depending on the desired color.
