Heat-loving ants look for dark, warm, and humid places to settle. Their colonies can be found in the most unexpected places:

  • In cracks in walls, floors and foundations
  • Behind wallpaper
  • In boxes and drawers
  • In the folds of clothes
  • In vases and household appliances

How to scare away ants?

Ants are sensitive to certain odors that can be used to repel them:

  • Plants and herbs: parsley, garlic, bay leaf, mustard, thyme, lemon balm, mint, lemon peel, garlic, hot pepper.
  • Essential oils: lavender, mint, tea tree, eucalyptus.
  • Vinegar: a solution of vinegar and water (1:1).

How to get rid of ants?

  • Folk methods:
    • Poisoned bait: mix sugar with baking soda or boric acid and place it in places where ants congregate.
    • Boric acidand yeast balls: Mix boric acid with yeast and water, roll balls and place them around the house.
    • Flowers and herbs: Spread fresh or dried flowers and herbs around the house that repel ants.
  • Chemicals:
    • Traps: ready-made traps with poison that kill ants that get inside.
    • Gels: applied in drops in places where ants move.
    • Chalk: used to draw protective lines near baseboards, doors, and windows.
    • Powders: are scattered in places where ants congregate.

How to get rid of ants permanently?

  1. Find the nest: This is the most important step. The nest can be anywhere, so carefully inspect all corners of your home.
  2. Destroy the nest: Pour boiling water, borax solution or insecticide over the nest.
  3. Use preventive measures: Clean regularly, seal cracks and ventilate the room.
