This year, more than ever, we are wondering if we are going to have a frosty winter. To anticipate such a situation, every action, even a small one, will be useful in the fight against the cold.

Of course, heating is the main source to keep us warm at home. However, Sante Plus experts have offered an alternative that will help keep your home warm without spending money.

A great way to get immediate heat is with a hairdryer, which heats up from 50 to 125 degrees in a matter of seconds. Here are some practical applications of the device:

  1. Warm up your body with a hairdryer: For an instant temperature boost when you get home or stay in one place for too long, simply plug in a hairdryer and run it all over your body, especially on your extremities for a few minutes.
  2. Warming up the bed before bed: What could be more unpleasant than going to bed in a cold and damp bed. To fix this, blow hot air from a hair dryer on your mattress, sheets, and duvet, and you can spend the night in a nice, warm bed.
  3. Warm up your clothes before you get dressed: When you get up in the morning, warm up your clothes with a hairdryer.

Please note that you should always handle your hairdryer with care. This appliance can present a risk of electric shock and fire. Also, do not cover it, place it too close to the fabric, or use it near a water source. Also, be careful of the risk of overheating, which could damage the device.

In addition, to keep warm at home when there is no heating, use the following tips:

  • Dress warmly, in several layers of clothing. It is very important to wear high-quality underwear with long sleeves and choose clothes that fit snugly to the body. A loose fit promotes the flow of fresh air.
  • Interior textiles can act as a heater: cover the floor with a carpet, and install curtains on the windows to limit heat loss.
  • Blankets, rugs, and small heating pads can help keep you warm at any time.
  • Avoid drafts: cold air dramatically reduces the temperature in the air. Therefore, you should make sure to keep doors and windows closed or even seal them.
  • Let the sun in. It is one of the natural sources of heat, so don't hesitate to use it. During the hottest periods of the day, ventilate the apartment for 15 minutes to let the sun's rays enter the house and warm it up.
  • Close the shutters at night: as soon as night falls, don't forget to close the blinds and shutters to avoid heat loss.
  • Drink hot drinks. One of the most effective ways to raise your body temperature is to drink good tea, hot chocolate, or a hearty soup.
  • Keep moving. Don't sit in one place for too long, get up and move regularly, do something.

As a reminder, many people tend to wash clothes at low temperatures to save water and electricity. However, experts warn that this can be harmful to health.
