Experts explain how to remove brown stains from white socks easily and cheaply

White socks are often covered with stains that are difficult to remove. However, experts have offered a cheap and eco-friendly alternative to aggressive bleach.

Catherine Ranch, a cleaning expert from the eco-friendly website Planet Friendly Living, explained that soda crystals work great in this case. This was reported by Express.co.uk.

Soda can also be used for pre-washing. It is especially effective for removing other stains such as blood, oil, tea, or coffee.

It is enough to soak soiled white socks in a solution consisting of three to four tablespoons of soda crystals and warm water. Place the socks inside a bowl and leave them for a couple of hours, but preferably overnight.

Then put the socks in the washing machine and wash them as usual. Stains on white socks should disappear completely.

Baking soda crystals can also be used in the washing machine to help socks, as well as other clothes, become softer during washing. Simply add two tablespoons of soda crystals to the detergent dispenser of your washing machine and run a normal wash.
