The change in weather is not a reason to be sad, because autumn will still be warm and full of bright colors. What are the foods that can cheer you up and help fight depression?

1. Oily sea fish, walnuts are rich in anti-inflammatory fatty acids that relieve symptoms of anxiety and depression. Raw nuts are especially useful, they are more effective in fighting boredom.

2. Whole grain cereals - they contain tryptophan, an amino acid that promotes the production of serotonin and melatonin. Serotonin improves mood and relaxes, and melatonin regulates sleep cycles.

3. Fresh and frozen berries - due to the presence of antioxidants, they reduce anxiety and depression. In addition, they are high in vitamin C, which lowers cortisol levels, which also reduces anxiety.

4. Dairy products - sometimes a depressed mood can be associated with a decrease in blood sugar levels. It is not necessary to immediately binge on sweets. Foods with the right ratio of carbohydrates and proteins can bring sugar levels back to normal, such as unsweetened yogurt.

5. And, of course, bitter chocolate is an excellent natural antidepressant. The cocoa contained in chocolate promotes the release of serotonin, which improves mood. But it is a high-calorie product. You know that 25 grams per day is the optimal amount of dark chocolate for an adult.

Also, remember that thyroid dysfunction, anemia, vitamin and mineral deficiencies, and food allergies can contribute to depression. Proper nutrition will improve the situation.

Let's be healthy!
